Two people who like making things.
We started Kestrel after years of freelancing separately and realising our best work happened when we worked together — one on strategy and words, one on design and build.
How we got here
Between us we've worked in-house at a product company, run a freelance practice, and taught a night class on typography. Kestrel is the studio we always wished we could hire: small, honest about scope, and genuinely good at both the thinking and the making.
We keep the team at two on purpose. It means the people you meet on the first call are the people who do the work — no account managers, no handoffs, no surprises in the invoice.
What we believe
Clarity beats cleverness. The goal is work that's easy to understand, not work that shows off.
Small batches. We take on a few projects at a time so each one gets real attention.
Leave it better than we found it. You should be able to run and edit what we build after we're gone.
